As HUGE Rat fanatics we’ve been wanting to do this release for a good while. With this version we’re doing a traditional diode selection that’s been a staple for years, but using Russian D9B diodes for our Germanium section and clear Red LED’s for the III section of the selector instead of our standard LED/Si Hybrid.
We’re using Carbon Film resistors in this build opposed to Metal or SMD, similar to the 80’s and 90’s models so over time with abuse, temperature changes while on the road and just general wear they will drift slightly and create some magical builds..similar to what created the Woodcutter legend and more.
Another cool feature is that we are using Russian Military spec LM308 clone known as the KR140UD1408A. A fire breather of a chip, we are fortunate to have a couple of these on hand for this build.
